Thailand!

So after weeks of trying to book our tickets and always being derailed by distractions and other technical difficulties, Jami and I finally booked our tickets to Thailand! We have literally trying to do this for the past two weeks, but schedules and crazy traveling web sites continued to thwart us. Like I said to Jami today, it was like some weird version of hell where we were stuck in some continuous loop getting all the way through the “time to pay” page on the website, and then some stupid error message would show up forcing us to repeat the process in hopes we would receive a different outcome.

After an hour and a half of this nonsense today, we decided to go straight to the source and just called China Southern Airlines. Thinking we’d finally reached success, the guy told us we’d have to go into the actual Shanghai office to pay. Bummer.

Or so we thought! Unknowingly, the Shanghai office was right next door to XinTianDi, and anyone who knows anything about Shanghai, knows that XinTianDi makes you happy just by being there. Spirits a little higher, we wandered into the actually very nice office/store thing. The ladies there were really helpful and didn’t mind as Jami and I made things super ridiculously complicated. We got the exact flights we’d been trying to book online and it was all really easy. I was even able to use the credit card I wanted, which I wouldn’t have been able to do had we done it online.

Smiling and repeating the phrase, “I’m so excited! I’m so excited! I’m so EXCITED!” over and over again out loud and in my head, I asked Jami if she wanted to just wander through XinTianD as we left the Airline Office. Of course she said yes! And that’s when I saw the yogurt shop, Yogu-la, I’ve been wanting to try since about 9 o’clock last night when I read this.

Jami and I were still on our Thailand Ticket Purchasing High, so of course, we stopped in and got a small for 25 kuai! And the thing was huge for the price! I got Mango and put pineapple and kiwi pieces on it. Soooo good.

Today turned out to be a great day! I’m so excited about this Thailand thing and it’s only 6 weeks away! Can’t wait.
